Space Shot Drop Tower

As Torque has been retired and further sold in 2022, I decided that I want to try and improve on my custom air launch mechanism, but in a different form. Thus, I started planning to design and build a space shot tower, similar to the towers that S&S produce. This tower will encase a air launch mechanism that is able to accelerate the car up the 16 foot tower at an excess of 4 g’s. Once at the top, the system can then be reversed to create a fall faster than gravity, pulling the car towards earth. As there is a much higher liability with structures these tall, this is a half-scale model, with the tower only being a foot wide. The seats are only 4 inches wide, so definitely no human riders :).
