Overview
This ice resurfacer was one of my first major projects. It consisted of a main platform and then the main resurfacer. The main platform was to hold the water buckets and the resurfacer was to clean and smoothen the ice. I first would fill two five gallon buckets with warm water. Once I opened the main valve, water would flow to the dispersion pipe. This pipe was around three feet wide and sprayed water down onto the ice. A rubber mat would trail this sprayer to spread the water out and smoothen the ice. Warm water was used to first melt away large chips, then fill them back in to create a smooth surface.
Why I made this
I made this ice resurfacer to help the local ice rinks. I noticed that many of them would get quite chipped up, being just outdoor ice rinks. To help smoothen it, I decided to build this zamboni.
