Overview
These haunted houses were built every year in my two car garage. Creating the perfect layout was crucial, as I would try to make it feel as though you could never escape, often incorporating many professional tricks. Oftentimes, hallways would begin to close in, or lighting effects would help advance the scene. The walls of the haunt consisted of plywood panels for edges and corners, while flat walls were made out of heavy-duty contractor garbage bags that had been slit long-ways to span the entire height of the garage. Lighting and props were added where necessary, and scare actors often occupied dark corners.
Why I made this
I have always loved Halloween, and from a very early age I knew I wanted to do something grand every year for the holiday. As well, I love entertaining others and producing events for others to enjoy, so putting those two ideas together, you end up with something like this. I loved the process of designing my haunt over the summer, and then spending hundreds of hours into the fall creating such an attraction which I knew so many people would be able to enjoy.
