K’nex Drop Tower

Overview

As many know, K’nex is known for producing small coaster models that are able to operate and run. I decided to take these old sets and combine them into a large drop tower. This tower stood about 16 feet tall and was supported by cables. Coaster tracks were installed on each side running the height of the tower. A drum system was then built, which wound fishing line up, pulling two cars up the towers.Once at the top, the drum was released allowing for the cars to freefall.
