Theater set designs

    Featured sets

    Mamma Mia!

This was the first set I designed from concept to show-ready fabrication. It was modeled after traditional Greek villas, while incorporating pops of color through florals. The center stage allowed for low-lying fog to roll out during certain numbers of the show. It was designed for easy fabrication, with standard show flats, each painted to resemble limestone.

    Romeo & Juliet

R&J was under the artistic direction that we were viewing the "backstage" of a theater. I thought of the idea of creating a faux proscenium, to further enhance the illusion of we are viewing this show from behind the scenes. Various props from other shows were littered amongst the set, including easter eggs from previous shows.

    Children of Eden

Children of Eden was my last Senior Show, and I wanted to end on a high note. I designed and CNC cut large sheets of plywood to resemble stained glass. Acrylic sheeting was attached behind this, and was given a light paint wash. By focusing par lights to the back of the panels, we were able to change the hue of the stained glass throughout the show. The center platform risers allowed for cast to enter and exit the stage without having visible side entrances, and a multitude of moving props along with fog effects help to enhance the show experience.
